Setting up a Lock Miter Bit with the GrooveCenter (here is the page) requires a digital caliper to determine the off-set. This works well but requires three hands! | |
It’s much easier to make small spacers, each for a specific Lock Miter Bit with the exact offset size. Here are the two spacers for the big Freud and the small CMT bits. | |
This is the one for the CMT bit, the Magic Number is 0.600”. | |
And the bigger one for the Freud bit: M = 0.850”. | |
The spacer drops in the track and registers the offset. | |
This works really well! |
